Up Periscope

February 22, 2006

I had the colonoscopy this morning.  A couple of polyps were found, and will be sent for biopsy. The doctor said they looked normal, so I’m not worried.

The procedure itself wasn’t bad, thanks to the anesthesia.  Man, I love that stuff.  That was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time.

Yesterday’s preparation was the hard part.  I don’t know about you, but drinking a GALLON of liquid(s) mixed with that vile powder is not high on my list of fun things to do.  The first 64 oz. went down okay, but it was very difficult for me to swallow the rest of that stuff.  I started at 10:00 a.m., and finished at 8:00 p.m.  Of course, I was in the bathroom all day and night.

I lost 6 pounds. Unfortunately, I’m sure those lost pounds will come home wagging their tails behind them in a day or two.  Oh well.  At least this experience is over with.  Next up on the list is a bone density test.  That should be a piece of cake, but I’m kind of sorry it doesn’t require anesthesia. Heh.

You’re a good girl, getting that done!

I did that kind of prep one time and refused it the second time. Was given pills to take. Last time the old citrate of magnesia was swallowed in gingerale as new doc didn’t trust the pills. No polyps last time. btw Stephanie that tongue is ugly. 😉

I can’t read your entire page anymore. The right side is cut off…why did you change? I can’t remember…if you told us. I liked the old one better. Glad it’s over for you now…hope all comes out negative in the lab, too.

I like the new design, it works well on my end. I am glad your test went well. I also am glad to hear that it wasn’t that bad, I have never had one done but if you say it wasn’t bad then I won’t worry if I ever do.

Stefani, it’s a good thing I did it this time because, like Bonnie, I just might refuse next time, because of the prep. Ugh. I changed my template because the old one is lost along with my entries over at diary-x. Bex, the trouble you are having might be WebTV related…? Thanks for your kind words, Carol. They are much appreciated.

I am so glad you got through the test. I am so missing my journal 😦 I set one up at LJ until Stephen gets D-x back up and running..which he says should be by the end of next week. I am liking this new template of yours…but I do miss those eyes staring at me from the screen 🙂

Me again..I just loaded your page in Firefox (I was on IE6 before) and it does cut off the sidebar linky things (new, old, profile, etc) but there is a scroll bar at the bottom and I can scroll over to where I can see them. Looks fine other than that to me.

LOVE the new template!! I view it okay in Firefox on a mac, I scroll over a bit to get the sidebar, but no probs. Are you staying at Diaryland or going back to d-x? Or doing both? Hope your biopsies come back okay. I could use some sleep myself.

Texas Peach and Kim – thanks for the positive input! As for where I’ll be posting, I’m leaning towards staying at Diaryland because of the no back-up at Diary-x, but, you never know… I could change my mind… We’ll see.

Glad it is over for you Milady. Your experience was much like mine, the preparation was the hairy part. Hope the biopsy shows benign. When I had Webtv there were sites that I couldn’t get completely.

Hey! When are you off for spring break? I have wheels again and we owe ourselves a nice chatty lunch. ~LA
